Most of the very best pieces are from the Gene London Collection, which I'd never heard of.

I had two bras...one had the matching belt and other was just the bra or whatever these are called (body jewelry) I never had the head piece or armbands.

They belonged to an opera singer who had given them to her grand-niece, who sold them at her moving sale.

I'm curious to see what the one in the Whitaker auction will go for as I feel I undersold mine.

This one actually had some saphiret glass which made it more valuable.

This was supposed to be worn by Dita Von Teese in some sort of book either just about her or burlesque, I can't remember which.
It was the photographer who bought it from me.

    Thanks for sharing this link.

My favorite? While certainly not as opulent as most of the others, this is to me...dare I say...rare?

1830s Men's pink beaver plush top hat.

Have to admit I have never seen an antique pink plush top hat. Ever ever ever!

I'll bet the gent who had this made up was quite the dandy!

MessyNessychic.com showed more photos from the auction HERE.

I thought this Giorgio Sant'angelo metallic kimono fan blouse from the 1970's was fairly eye-popping.

I edited my post above to read 1830s pink plush top hat, NOT 1930s (as I had originally typed in error). Big difference!

Ya, that pink hat is going to go off the charts -- I bet $20,000

$20,000!!!! And here I was actually thinking of registering to bid. I decided not to after considering it would be a fruitless effort. But it was so wonderful to see it.

Too bad it did not come up in time for the LACMA menswear exhibition "Reigning Men". I'll bet they would have bid it to the sky.

I will dream about that hat forever......seriously. It is my new Holy Grail, right after a genuine Chanel hat from the early 'Teens.

Is this auction going to be live online or only in person with phone in or absentee bidding?

I keep looking at the info but it appears I'm missing out on this information.

Check out lot 730. Doesn't it look a lot like a Lillian Swing coat? I wonder if Lilli Ann copies Jacques fath. Beautiful things in there!

Thank you Hollis - that's fascinating. Actually I thought the prices were quite reasonable. Of course you are crossing your fingers on the condition and that buyer's premium takes a big added chunk.

So looks like the star was the Vionnet at $16,000.

There certainly were so amazing items.

That pink top hat only went for $2100.

Thanks for the link to the results, Hollis.

Loved all those figural hat stands!
