Good evening . . . I've just spent the last hour online looking for shoe clip "bases," to little avail. I'm hoping to "happy up" a pair of taupe pumps for the June wedding, and would like to make shoe clips to add some color, but am finding nothing but nice old shoe clips. Unfortunately, not in my color. Or jewelry finding catalogs that demand that you buy in bulk. I'm looking for one pair of terrible old funky not-worth-saving shoe clips with good, reworkable under-structure to them. The part that lays on the top of the shoe would have to have a few holes in it, to attach wiring & beading. Also, for that reason, it would be nice if that section weren't too, too small. Anyone have something you'd like to sell me? (Cheap-to-almost cheap, please, since I only need the "skeleton"!) C.
I will keep my eyes open in my travels for these. seen a lot of plasticky faux brass 80s ones recently but nuthin else chrus
Thanks, Chris - I don't care what's attached to the top - I'm going to rip it off, anyway. I just need the bendy-metal-with-teeth-for-gripping part. I may be reduced to making them with clip earring backings (which always slide around :( ) or ordering 58 pair (buying in bulk!) C
What about these?<br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/shoeclips.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/shoeclips2.jpg><br><br>May have some more laying around here somewhere.
Linda - Those are too nice to dismantle! :( I meant truly ruined, on top. . . . because all I need is the "hardware" part. Just found some online that I may be able to "add to" instead of totally dismantling. Now, if they don't get too silly, in price. . . Thanks, sweetie. ;) C
Hi Linda - Bless your little heart! I actually just got some on auction - they're gold beaded but I can delete some and add the apricot and peach beads and it will work. That was the prob . . . looking at a shade between apricot and peach. Not easy to find. I've been so disappointed in this season's colors. All fall/winter the media was abuzz about the coming spring colors. Yet, all I seem to be finding are baby blue, aqua, pink and apple green. Can't wait till COLOR is back - full force. The full palette!!! I owe you one, Linda. Thanks for looking. C
Linda - Maybe list your sparklies? Nice photo - and it IS bridal season! They probably won't bring huge $ - but items like this ARE an easy list. Thanks again. C
I love shoe clips. And the don't always have to go atop your toe cleavage either. Some clips look nice on the outside of the heel side. I've drawn a black...no, a blank...I left that word so you'd know I'm struggling...LOL...what's that part of the shoe called....caffeine-deprived as of yet this morning. Brenda Oh, I want to see the whole MOTB outfit when it's done.
I am just upset i passed up a big pair of vintage rhonestone buckle like shoe clips a few months ago. I still think about them. ohh..its painful lol
