Hi all! I bought this dress the other night and am kind of mystified as to its time period. It's definitely handmade; all the seams are pinked, and a few hand-finished or finished with seam tape. The material feels like a cotton blend, and there are no closures other than the buttons, which are all satin knots. While the waist sort of looks like it's elasticized, it's not - just gathered. I asked a couple of friends to look at it as well and the best we could come up with was somewhere between the late 1940s-early 1960s, which is a pretty broad time period. Would appreciate your thoughts. :)

It looks vaguely 1970s to me.

    My first impression - 1960's.

  5. Another vote for '70s, I'll go very late '70s to 1981. The fabric is probably cotton polyester blend.
