Help dating hair setting cape

    First of all, not really sure what you call this... I was told it was used to protect a woman's clothing while she did her hair at home? Feels like rayon. There are two capes, shown on top of each other. Also, any ideas on date? My guess is 1940s? Thanks!

    These look more like bed jackets to me. Wikipedia says:
    The bed jacket is lightweight jacket worn to cover the chest, shoulders and arms while sitting up in bed. Its short length and cape-like cut allows for it to be put on (or removed) while reclining.
    In practice, women also put them on over a nightgown or pajamas to cover their shoulders to get a cup of coffee, get the paper etc.
    They certainly could have been used while doing hair.
    The color and stye look 50's or 60's to me, but not at all sure without seeing and handling them.
