Hi everyone! Is there a specific name for this type of lace? Feels heavy, more like embroidered, from a 1960s evening dress. Thanks.
I know exactly the fabric you mean as I have a mid 1960s dress made entirely from it in bright turquoise and it really is surprisingly heavy. I found http://vintagefashionguild.org/lingerie-guide/lingerie-fabric-and-lace-treatments/ and it has similarities with Chantilly lace, though the cording is more abstract. Perhaps it could be called a mock-chantilly lace fabric?
