Can anyone help me ??? I have a SAINT LAURENT RIVE GAUCHE vintage dress. The UNUSUAL thing is that the additional white label has been filled out in handwriting.( in French/ English: style: 521 - size: 38 - color : 02...s521 : silk 100. The rare thing regarding this dress is that on the back of thw white label ( in the same handwriting ) is the date 3-12-82. I have searched via internet , and have not seen anything with the date it was designed . Does anyone know any information ??? It would be very appreciated.

It could be a sample or custom made dress - the date referring to the date ordered or date it was due to be delivered? As there aren't any customer details (name or number) I'm inclining towards in house sample.

yes l have some smaples and they have handwritten details on...probably from an 'off the peg', these details are on there for the reps to give details to buyers..

The bottom seam of the dress seems to be unfinished ( the internal seam). Did the samples that you have seen have exact date of production ?

I've seen samples with dates of production - although they don't often have them. Unfinished seams suggest that it was a sample too: they're not intended for wearing or selling, just for manufacturers/designers to take orders from.

Thank you Nicole . I appreciate the info . My cousin who is a student at FIT , informed me to maybe contact YSL or The Met..and see if it could be donated. Is that possible ? Would they be interested ? I dont know how common my dress is , so I wasn't so sure . AnY THOUGHTS ?
