    Hi Everyone,
Can't seem to find anything definitive on determining which is which. This jacket has a sort of 'marbled' texture to the leather in places that I have read is associated with Horsehide.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Lauren,

My DH and I both own very similar Brooks cafe racer jackets - they are from the 60s and I would guess yours is too.

I don't think it's horsehide, as I don't think that many leather jackets were still being made from horsehide in the 60s. I have been told that a way to see if it's horsehide is if the jacket stands up on its own.

I'm not finding a definitive answer on cowhide versus steerhide.

    GREAT jacket!
