  3. Forgot about my 49er Pendleton jacket which hasn't seen a listing yet because I cannot bear to part with it. :)

You should keep it Linda! I have a favorite postal counter worker who started gushing about a jacket she once had and couldn't keep for some reason. By her description it turned out to be a 49er. I found one for her eventually, in her size and basic color preference. These are the greatest vintage sporty jackets, in such a variety of plaids. Yours is dreamy!

Ah, Leisa, shucks! I wish I had a secret so I could put it in a book or pill and make some money. I feel it must be just DNA. I'm not well kept or anything! :USING:

  5. Maggie, I found another 49er jacket. It is not a Pendleton but it is basically the same colors. I am having a hard time getting rid of that one, too!

I can't wait to get some pics of a coat I cannot bear to part with! It's gorgeous white with black trim and toggle closures. I found it in a thrift store a few towns away and when I got it to the register even the cashiers were gushing over it! They hadn't noticed it in the racks until I picked it out! Look for the pics later today after I get myself and kids ready for our day and I get it dug out of my closet. I can't remember if it has a label or not, but I think you guys might like it as much as I do...

I literally wore my 49er jacket out I loved it so much..

Pendleton did re-issue of those just a couple years ago, so we may start finding them again.

  8. Hollis, I will be listing my other one soon, I think. It does have an old label. It has one small moth hole in front which can be fixed. It has been in the freezer, out, back in so got that done.

    Don't sell the 49'er jacket!!

No discussion on things you can't part with would be complete without the Egyptian dress. Okay, i don't **wear** it...so it shouldn't be on this thread..It didn't sell last fall. I wonder why no one inquired about it this year...but then i realized...it was "on hold" the whole time. Yikes!

Some subconscious part of me does not want to sell this dress. It doesn't fit me. well, technically i can get it on, but i don't have the right shape/height for maxi dresses and it doesn't work. So for now, it resides in the "permanent collection"

Giving this a little bump for Paul - and it's been a while so I'm sure everyone has more to share ... :)

So here's another contribution from me - me on the beach at St Ives 2 summers ago now, wearing a 50s sundress that I refuse to part with!

I posted this already on the private board. Here is a UW football letterman sweater and a flirty football themed skirt suit. From the same estate and I'm certain the suit was made to impress the gals future husband. She loved him and it makes me warm and fuzzy every time I look at this! It doesn't fit me but I am keeping it for a while :) I'll dig around and post some pics of my wearable vintage later. <p>

Here's a picture of my son a couple of years ago wearing a vintage smoking jacket. He wanted to keep it but I sold it. :)

The football suit is fantastic, and the story behind it is one of the reasons I love vintage clothing! I wouldn't part with it either :)

Your son is handsome Linda! It's cool that he wanted to keep it - I hope mine grows up with the vintage bug.. although I've probably flooded him too much with old stuff and everything he buys will be ultra modern!

This week's keeper. Every now and then I take photos of something then decide I want to hang on to it. :BAGUSE: This dress cost me one whole dollar and I decided to hang it in my closet at least for now. It is just 70s poly!

Worth every cent and then some! I love it - and it suits you. But then everything seems to suit you.. which I realise is a double edged sword.

It would be difficult for anyone to part me from the majority of my beloved dollyrockers items (because I find them all so 60s and exciting), or my Biba (because they fit me better than any other clothes I have ever owned)... so here's a combination of two items that I actually wore out to a do *tonight*... just got back and downloading the events pictures. ;-)

Liberty print Dollyrockers top (mandarin collar, slight bell sleeves, fastens at the chest and then flares out with slits at the front and back) and purple Biba trousers with black swirls at the bottom. You can't see the trousers very well, but the top is hard to miss! LOL!

I love the style of that top! I have one with a similar cut by Casual Corner.
I am sure that I would love the trousers too if I could see them better.
    I am a big Biba fan:cool:

I'm not a seller yet like you guys & gals, but I hope to be soon:bouncy:

Anyway, I have a lot of items that mean a lot to me from when I first started collecting when I left college.

The following pic is not great - it's taken on a blue background as it was from a 'digital fantasy art' shoot. In other words, the photographer Photoshopped me into a groovy background afterwards! This pic showed the trouser legs off to the best effect.

There's no label inside - I think it's handmade. I bought it from a charity shop.
