    Hi and welcome!
Are there shops in Thailand where you can walk in and try on (and buy) vintage clothes? Or is access completely online/mail order?

First of all i have to apologise if i make any mistakes with my writing and thanks again to let me join this board.

    Back to the question...

There are quite a few proper vintage clothing shops in Siam square and Chatuchak weekend market both shopping places are located in Bangkok.
I prefer Chatuchak weekend market as it's such a great big place and alot more interested stuff to look at. You can easily spend almost 2 days to walk around it! Talking about it, i haven't been there for ages if i happen to go there sometimes in the near future i will take some pictures of both places and post them on here if you wish.

I started to collect vintage clothes and some accessories like belts, bags and shoes since i was in my teen. They were cheap and easy to find in any flea markets in Bangkok. But then go back to 7 years ago after i had a big row with my Thai ex-boyfriend i left the house and all my belonging behind. I even had a storage for my clothes, you could say walk-in wardrobe but that sounds too posh to me! Anyway on my return i found that all my clothes, shoes and whatever in my storage have been cut by a very sharp knife! I was so shocked and disappointed.

Since that happen i had to start from zero to collect them again. Now i live in 1 bedroom flat with limited storage which mean i can't collect as much as i want.

I remember my very first dress that sold on ebay was an emerald green corset pencil dress, i believe it was a designer dress i could tell by its quality and the design. So, yes, i also sell vintage and i know that i'm not a qualified seller as my knowledge of vintage is very little compare to all of you:adore:.

Thank you Buddha, glad that i found this forum!

Oh my goodness - I can not believe the knife slashing story. How awful for you. The weekend markets sound wonderful. We would all love to see photos.

Hello there! Nice to hear from someone a bit closer to Melbourne (where I live!) Everyone seems to be from the US or UK - I'm also a new member - I have been hoping to find an Australian vintage clothing society for years - it seems like it will never be a reality.

Chatuchak market is so much fun - I've been there a few times - but I must say I never found any good vintage stuff - I guess you have to know where to look!!
