Nipon Boutique Suit Fabric?

    Can anyone tell me what the name of this type of fabric?

    Jacquard (see spelling also) is a type of weave, but it is not the specific name of a fabric. Yours is indeed a jacquard weave, but the correct term for that fabric is a brocade. At least it appears to be a brocade from judging just by a photo. It also looks close to a satin damask, but due to the multi colors and what appears to be a raised weave, I am going with brocade.

    I can explain it a bit better like this: All brocades are jacquards...but all jacquards are not brocades. Kind of like "all apples are fruit, but not all fruit are apples".

    It is a very pretty fabric by the way.

    The fabric is a bit more muted (this is scanned).
    It really looks somewhere between the two pics in person.
    Fabric is Acetate.
