NWT 60\'s Saks dress - what is this lace called? And other questions :)

The lace is just one of my questions about this beauty ~

And the underpinnings - boned... corset? Boned corset-style lining?

It also has 4 layers of underskirts - it's really something!

TIA for your help - and if you know me at all, you'll know that I'd be eternally grateful for any title suggestions :)

I am not a lace expert, so I will give you a temporary semi-educated guess at either Carrickmacross, or Maltese, and then someone who knows will come along. I know what its not, but not sure what it is...

    Open weave, resembles handwork lace.

    Thanks Jonathan & Queenie!

Is the boned bodice lining nothing more than just that? I have a knack for making the simplest things difficult :)

You could probably get away with calling that a bustier foundation underbodice.

  6. I would use bustier and corset top, both of which get many hits. Also lace. Also Saks. Oh my, you have lots of key words.
That dress is just beautiful and with the pink sash, it will fit right into May's Tickled Pink VTA theme!
I agree. I think it's 60s.:)

I think that would be a gorgeous wedding dress for a casual spring or summer outdoor wedding.
