I found this in a resale shop. The top layer is dotted swiss. Under that is a layer of netting, then a layer of tiered netting, then another layer of netter and then a layer of acetate. It is full length and open at the back. It closes with hook and eye closures. Is this a petticoat/ crinoline? I've never seen anything like it.

sounds like a skirt if the top layer is dotted swiss and it has hook and eye closures. it probably had a matching top, i would imagine.

can you post a picture of it?

Are there any labels? If you don't see one make sure you check the hanger loops inside. They sometimes have a name printed. A name will tell you if it is a lingerie company or not. Also does it zip closed or just button? A picture would really help.
