I'm having trouble determining whether or not this dress is silk and velvet or if the silk is synthetic...any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Ok just tried the burn test and I am going to say it is not silk haha...it melted and was like a hard plastic bead. Curled away from the flame but there was no ash. Am I right?
    Acetate.

I thought rayon leaves ash -- silk can turn into a hard bead, but you should be able to smell burning hair. It's probably a nylon which also melts into a hard bead. The velvet looks rayon - I can see that in the pics.
