    The Vintage Fashion Guild is constantly updating the Label Resource, and we welcome contributions. If you have labels to contribute, we ask that you keep in mind a few guidelines.

    First, please check the Resource to insure that your label is not already included.

    If your label is NOT shown there, and you feel it should be, then post an image of the label onto this thread, together with details of
    (1) date of garment
    (2) type of garment
    (3) any information you have about the designer/label.

    Try to get a clear, straight shot of the label. Please crop it to show just the label, and resize it to 200 pixils across.

    Also, because of the change of the label sizes when changing to the new format, some of the old labels are grainy and hard to read. If you have one of the labels that is in this condition, we welcome your replacement label.

    By posting your label image here, you are giving your copyright assignment for the image to go onto the Label Resource. You will be credited for your contribution.

    We are always looking for new information about any of the labels on the resource. Please post here or contact me if you have information you wish to contribute!

    Concerning Use of the Label Resource

    Welcome to the Vintage Fashion Guild's Label Resource. Here you'll find a large collection of vintage label images, complete with biographies and company histories for each label.

    We are working hard to make sure this Resource is as comprehensive as possible. It is a work in progress;its growth depends upon contributions of labels, and any ommissions are due to the fact that examples of many designers' work are scarce. We welcome contributions of labels that are not represented on the Resource.

    This Resource is to be used only as an educational tool, and is not intended as a value guide. Inclusion of a label in the resource is not an indication of value, as garments vary greatly in value depending on many factors. Another point that needs to be considered by users is that some companies used the same label for many years, and just because the garment used on the label resource is a certain date, it does not mean that all garments with the same label are the same date.

    The labels included have been carefully researched, we have worked hard to insure that all information is correct. If a mistake should be found, we would greatly appreciate access to your information so the Resource can be corrected.

    We hope you find the Vintage Fashion Guild's Label Resource useful. We provide the Resource at no cost to the vintage community, and we are pleased when people are able to use it.     Not sure of date but think this is 80s
    From her website:
    "Flora Kung is Chinese and came to New York at high school age. After winning the Children's Wear Award at Parson's School of Design in New York, Flora left for Paris, was featured in the French ELLE magazine as a young designer to watch. and freelanced for many renown pret-à-porter houses, until her visa ran out.

    Upon returning to New York, she founded Flora Kung in mid 80's, but had trouble finding the fabrics and colors she wanted, thus ended up drawing all her prints and mixing her own colors and had them reproduced in silk – a signature of her collections up to this day.
    Contrary to her colleagues on 7th Avenue, Flora worked only in silk: “because silk is the most versatile and obedient when it comes to accepting vivid colors and prints."

    Fast-forward to the late 80's, despite the fact that Flora stayed away from spotlights and runway shows, Flora Kung had six divisions and distributions in 4 continents, and she was recognized as the true tour-de-force for creating upscale vibrant silk prints.

    By the end of the 80's, longing for a break, Flora sold the company and moved "back" to
    Paris and started a family. In 2006, Flora resurrected her eponymous label, now she resides and designs from her New England farm.

    Besides making sure that her silk line striving carefully in today's economic climate, for Spring 2010, Flora Kung launches "flower by flora kung", a new division offering dresses and tops in silk blend jersey.

    Here is a Jantzen Label we don't have yet.
    The closest one is a 40's Aussie label.

    From the Men's terry bathing jacket that I have & a blouse that joules has on etsy,
    we believe it's c. 1950's.

    I think we should add Bullock's labels, to the Bullock's Wilshire section, as there are quite a few variations, such as this Bullock's Los Angeles Sportswear, from a 1940s striped wool jacket, with a NRB label.

    Vintage (Original 1978 / 1979?) Label for Victoria's Secret, Designer Lingerie, San Francisco

    Found this old Victoria's Secret label on a pair of 100% Antron III Nylon pajamas by Henson Kickernick. I read somewhere that Victoria's Secret, under control of founder Roy Raymond, originally sold lingerie manufactured by select designers before producing their own line.
