I have a small vintage clothing business in Jacksonville, Florida. One of my best sellers is handbags from the 1950's and 1960's and I have difficulty keeping them in stock. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced source for good quality handbags from this era? Or does anyone have any handbags they are interested in selling? Thanks for your input!
You can put in a search on our Home page from the Search VFG members on Etsy button or the Search VFG members on eBay You can also look at the Shop VFG Members directory and get to individual websites. In order to get to a trade members website you need to click twice to get into see the trade members however, click on the title of the shop not on the business card when you get to the 2nd page and that will lead you to many different members shops. You have to go one by one. Also, you can connect to members sites by clicking on their signature lines in these forums, most of us have direct links posted. Good luck with your hunting, isn't it great to have a hot selling item...with Mad Men back on, you should be doing even better with those 1960s ones!
Hi Mary Jane, Thanks very much for the tips and directives. I will check them out ASAP! It is fantastic to have a show like Mad Men to spark or rekindle interest in vintage clothing and accessories!
Yes, it's to0 bad some of the other more retro shows weren't good enough to last. Like Pan Am and the Playboy Club shows...those would have helped too. I redid the instructions for you on the first post to try to make it clearer for you.
Speaking of vintage style shows... Magic City set in Miami Beach late 50's early 60's era should give a boost. Watch and post your best items!
Hi Melody, Yes, I do buy black and a small amount of brown. It seems that a good black bag always sells especially if it is patent. Thanks!
I have this clutch bag, however I am still trying to Identify and determine what I will sell it for. I also have a vintage satchel that is Korean made if intrested in that!
Thank you for the offer on your nice items. I think I will pass this time since my biggest need currently is frame handbags. Thanks again!
Sorry so late to respond, I did the Manhattan Vintage Show over the weekend. I have many 50s-60s frame bags. If you like you can e-mail me at tangerinboutique@aol.com and I will send pics. Let me know. Melody

Hello Wanda, I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I appreciate your response to my request for handbags. I am no longer in the vintage business but am sure you will find a good home for your collection since vintage purses are so desirable. Best wishes on your retirement!
Hi, Wanda. I would be interested in taking some of your framed purses (1940s, 50s, 60s) off your hands, if they're still available. I just registered with this website today, so I don't know if you've already provided photos of the handbags you're interested in selling. Would you please tell me what you have available and how I could go about seeing photos, getting prices, designer names, and materials (such as lizard, croc, etc). In addition to some of the names you offered, we've also had success with Rosenfeld, Sterling and others. Any of those purses, too? Thanks! Lynn
Hi ladies, Just a reminder that only VFG members are allowed to offer items for sale in the forums - from the Public Most Wanted forum FAQ: "Please remember that only VFG members can respond with items for sale, as per the forum terms and rules." thank you,
