Hello..I am a little rusty as I took a hiatus from listing clothing for a bit after doing Ebay for 11 years....I am OK with common stuff and really found this awesome piece and would like some help on identifying the various fabrics on the pieces. The long skirt uses 3 fabrics..one satin moire? the second is like a quilted fabric silk? and the back panel is like a shiny thick suiting fabric. The top has 2 (the puffy & Moire) I am thinking this is an 80's style...would this be goth? Can this be attributed to any designer or collection ? There is a small hole on the bottom front near the hem in the moire...Not very noticable. Should I sell the two pieces together or split it up as the top is perfect...both pieces are tagged. <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/34.jpg> <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/37.jpg> <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/32.jpg> <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/41.jpg> <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/42.jpg> <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/43.jpg> <img src=http://i980.photobucket.com/albums/ae286/janicesebaysales/skirt/44.jpg>
Charmeuse, matelasse, and moire? (Though in the closeup, the charmeuse looks like it could be faille...) Very pretty set!
I'm not an expert, but I'd sell these two as one, they do look like they belong together. I'd go with 80s too, at a first glance. Rive Gauche is Yves Saint Laurent's ready-to-wear label, and there's one like it in the label resource, which is from the 80s. Anyway, this outfit, even though it's black, reminds me a bit of YSL's russian collection... I guess it's the long skirt and the puffy sleeves. Karin
