Welcome to the Public Vintage Fashion Q & A forum!

Do you have a question about a specific vintage piece you've just acquired?
You've come to the right place to find the answer!

There is an enormous amount of interesting information gathered here at The VFG,
so we suggest that before you ask your question, you first go to the
Vintage Fashion Guild home page and check out the resources there.

You can also run a search by entering keywords specific to your garment in the search box on the right side of the VFG home page.

If you are unable to find a quick answer there, we have an amazing array of resources for you to peruse (direct links below), or please feel free to post a question with photos so we can help you more readily.

If you are unsure how to post a photo, click on the following - here are some instructions.
Please be sure to show the front and back, close-ups and label shots of your garment.
Please post your images to the thread, rather than linking to an external site.

Please ask us about only one piece per post; and include as much pertinent information as possible: the type of fabric, any openings, zippers, zipper pulls, type of interior construction and seaming, shots of the labels, buttons if they are unusual, etc. The more you can tell us, the more we can tell you!

Please put the designer or manufacturer’s name and type of garment in your title, e.g. “1950s Emma Domb ballgown.”

Please remember that the VFG cannot authenticate or price items: a professional appraiser needs to see the item in person.
You could also search closed auction results on ebay for similar items.
