Any kimono experts/enthusiasts? This is a crepe rayon exterior and a raw silk interior. Fairly heavy. No labels, lots of hand stitching. Any thoughts? I am leading towards 30s for some reason but I'm not really sure on asian vintage dating. Thanks!
Thanks! I guess everyone else is as stumped as me on asian pieces. I went with 30's only because it reminds me of a few pake mu that I've had that seem to have the same weight and feel to the fabric. I could be totally off, though!
Hopefully some of the more experienced folks here will weigh in, however, I think you're on the money. Beautiful print and beautifully displayed too.
Lots of kimono eye candy on that website! But am I missing something? How does one use that site to help date kimono? They only seem to use the classifications of "new", "quite new", "quite old", and "vintage". (I'm hoping to learn about kimono dating, too.)
