I found this dress at a local thrift last nigh for $4.99 and I’m fairly confident it’s from the 1930s but I’d just like to confirm. What points me in that direction is the colour, the snap side closure, the material and the bias cut. The construction is very complex. I believe the fabric is a crepe of some sort. Any help would be appreciated!

I took the dress outside to get some better photos, please excuse the snowflakes flying in front of the camera!

Wonderful 1930's dress. Makes you wonder who wore it and where.

What a find! You appear to be very lucky with 1930s dresses, don't you?

Thank you all for the help! I live just outside of Ottawa, a city with a lot of history. However because of how small the city is, there isn’t a huge vintage market so often I’m able to find pieces like this. Typically they put anything out of the ordinary on the International/Tradition Clothing rack so I found it hanging with the saris and traditional Caribbean/African outfits.
