Several weeks ago I went to a family wedding. My husband's cousin brought this coat to give me. He had bought it at auction. I know who the designer is and we discussed it on Facebook, but I thought you might enjoy a guessing game as well.

Can you give the decade? I was thinking Balenciaga but it is just too wild!

I already took a stab at it being Ungaro Parallele (see image that made me think so), and it's not, but I didn't see Claire's post about who really designed it. I've seen one absolutely wild dress by Traina-Norell, but this can't be...

Later than Balenciaga. That Ungaro is interesting.
A hint: A designer you know, but not one I generally collect.

If you like playing along, I posted a lavender dress on the Sewfari Divas.

Darn... the other day Hamish Bowles posted some similar kind of wrap cape... it was from his alma mater not a designer that I recall.

I asked about American because it reminded me of Montana. But I think I used my 3 guesses!

While you are thinking, here's an interesting necklace I saw in the LA Phil gift shop. Sadly my photos are not as crisp as I would like. These are metal coils.

Here is a photo of me sitting. If I wore it to an event, it would fill the coat closet. If I kept it on I would need 3 chairs.

Do we get more than one guess? I have two American designers in mind. The first is Bob Mackie (not that this looks like his work, but is outlandishly wonderful like it, and I did see a dress with "petals" all down the back).

If not him, I have another, but if we're allowed just one, that's it.
