1940’s? Cellini Bonwit Teller velvet shoes

    The only other pic of anything similar I could find was from the Met Museum costume page. Do you think these are really the same era?

    One shoe has Bonwit Teller stamped; the other has Cellini Philadelphia. Both have a handwritten mark (or stamped?) with a number but unsure of the meaning or what the words say.

    Thanks in advance for any info or other resources I can search.

    The heel shape and soft pointed toe would suggest mid/late 1950's to me. The pointed vamp is a bit exotic so perhaps they were something like hostessing shoes...
