1950\'s Bonnie Cashin, Guttman Bros knit dress

I'm hoping someone can help me authenticate this beautiful dress. I've unsuccessfully searched the internet for months looking for images from the Bonnie Cashin/Guttman Brothers colaboration. I'm including pictures. Please let me know if you can provide additional information. Also, the dress is more of a pale camel color than appears in the photos. Many thanks!

lol! hey, i have trouble posting photos using html here too.

try using the browse/attach button. that's an easier way.

no, no, don't go insane! here, have a cocktail :drinking2:

now, click on the 'post reply' button, then scroll down to the bottom left and you'll see a box that says attachment, with a browse button. try posting just one photo that way. not positive, but i think you may only be able to post one photo per post with the attachment thingy. but hey, better than going insane and still no photos!

    extra cocktail for fortitude:

:drinking2: Thanks for the cocktail. It was badly needed. Try, try, again. Tried to resize (I have been using the browse feature all along) and send 1 at a time.

woo hoo, success! :cheer: must've been the photos were too big. love the dress, that applique, asymmetric neckline, and the belt.

i gather you found the entry on the bonnie cashin foundation web site? it lists the firms she had a contract with, and guttman brothers are on the list:

So glad Joan was able to coach you through posting pictures--definitely worth the wait! Such wonderful details on the dress (that asymmetrical neckline... ), and I love the way the midriff section is ribbed for shape!

I can't quite tell from the pic--are there beads on the bodice accent, or is that effect done with cloth (to match the yummy pompoms on the belt!)?

WOW - totally worth the wait. Gorgeous dress. Looks like beads or pearls to me on the bodice accent - sort of reminds me of a sea horse.

Thanks, Joan! Yes, I found the Cashin/Guttman info at the foundation. Unfortunately, no images to be found.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Will add more pics as I can.
