Having trouble identifying the fabric used to construct this skirt. It is from the 1950s with metal zipper and is a ballet length, full circle skirt. The fabric has black flocking (leaves and small flowers) and has a gold print. The finish is satiny. It is has a very tight weave and is very stiff. It almost moves like a heavy paper. I looked with a jeweler's loop and could determine there is a warp and weft. The closest I can come to a type of fabric is bark cloth? I would appreciate any input or advice on determining this fabric type.
