60s Green Suit..Very Jackie O.

Discussion in 'PUBLIC Vintage Fashion - Ask Questions Get Answers' started by vintageclothes-line, Jul 11, 2004.

  1. I guess it would be early 60s. Need an ID on the fabric please. No tags or labels at all. Also, there is a small storage spot on skirt. Do you think this will matter? TIA.<br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen10.jpg><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen2.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen4.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen7.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen9.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen11.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen12.jpg><br><br><img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen13.jpg><br><br> <img src=http://image.inkfrog.com/pix/magnolia3/60sgreen15.jpg><br><br>

  2. A very lovely suit, I love the color! Celery, right?

I don't think the spot will deter, did you try to spot clean it out? I use believe it or not greased lightning and nine times out of ten it works.

  3. Thank, Tori, I will try the Greased Lightning. Wish me luck!! I will let you know how it turns out.

If you got this inexpensively, you might want to go on and have the skirt professionally drycleaned.

It is a lovely shade of green - celelery? celadon? And that looks like a boucle or a rough tweed.

    And your accessories are perfect

  5. Hollis, I might just do that although we do not have the best cleaners in the world. This suit needs to be cleaned. It was found in a plastic storage zipper bag and probably hasn't seen the light of day since the early 60s.

One of the last two vintage dresses I took to the cleaners here, had a little note on it that said sorry, couldn't get the stains out. :( Really a nice dress, too.

  6. Wow! My mom had an identical suit--even the same color--in 1963. It was her 'going away' suit (Surely, there's a more proper name for this.)--what she wore to leave her wedding reception and start her honeymoon.

I thought of another color name, too--honeydew melon.

Oh I like honeydew. In this outfit your honey will do what ever you want him to do!!!

  8. I like that, too!! I like those honey do's. I will use that!

  9. Just an update. Those storage spots came out with just a damp cloth!

Do you think since this is wool that it would be too early to list? Or should I wait until next month?
