    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has come across this label which appears to read 'Clive'.

Its from an auction lot with a beautiful Bill Gibb 70's dress and all the items are high end designers so am hoping one of you experts recognises it!

Pictures of the dress and label below

    A great, fun dress.

It looks like THIS is your designer and if you google this:

    “Clive Evans” label

You will see images of his designs, some of which are shown with his label and which is the same as the signature on yours.

You are, of course, spot on. So it looks likely to be 1960s rather than 70s as the couture house closed in 71 and he continued only with collaborations...

Wonderful sleuthing, no idea how you found this but I am suitably impressed, thank you.

I actually had an outfit that looks as though it may have been from the collection shown on that video. The 3rd example is similar.

I like the dress you have shown us much more!

Yup, that is one of the images that came up when I googled:

    “Clive Evans” label

and that confirmed it for me...so thanks for adding the label! It is so helpful to include a photograph of the label when you are selling vintage clothing.
