    Hi,

I'm pretty sure it's 80's, just wanted to double check:

I wish these style Shaheens did better. Ah well, either way, it's gotta go cat go!

    Thanks :)

It has a very oriental influence to it in the pattern which i like, and the collar reminds me of a mandarin collar, but a bit more open. I would play up that aspect of it.

    Thanks Patent :)
Personally, I love the flowers on it (the name of which escapes me right now!)

I think 1970s, but that's only because I think of these dresses as being quitessentially 70s.

Yes, I think of it as 70s too - you know, for lounging with a Singapore Sling on your white leather sofa of an evening...

Yes, definatley 70s. The little mandarin collar, the full sleeves with wide cuffs, the print, the A-line shape and the narrow shoulders. All very typically early 70s

Another vote for 70s! Very pretty! Would the flowers be magnolias?

    (I'm pretty flower-challenged)

I was thinking Lotus flowers - does that sound right?

A lotus would have harder edges to the petals i think and more of them. But i could be wrong. But perhaps artistic license was taken....

And Lotuses i believe are only white but i could be totally off too.

Well I know for sure that patterns for this style of tunic sure get their money's worth and if this were a dress pattern, you would probably have a battle. This is not even taking into effect that this is a Shaheen!!!

I like to think of this as a hostess or a lounging outfit....I would certainly mention "tunic" in the title....I like the abstract design as well!

I think we are talking hisbiscus as the floral pattern here....

Really? 'Cause any 70s Shaheen's I see on eBay (in the completed section) NEVER seem to do well :(

It might be depending on the motif. If they are more the maxi dress style with the belted waist, they have to be really really special because they don't appeal to everyone right now, and this is more of a tunic style with an oriental motif. Tunics are coming more into fashion due to the bohemian fashion influence. I can't say if this will sell or not, but it is nice.

Well, at least I figured out the flowers were hibiscus ;)
If I can sell it for like $20, I'll be happy. I just want stuff outta my closet!
