Hello, I checked this website to reveal when my blazer was made in, but the specific label was not included in the list. Does anyone have idea how old this label is? Thank you
I found another similar variant label . This label was confirmed in 30s one. So I believe the label in the matter must be newer around 40s or 50s...but again, have no idea.
Cannot help with the label dating, but this looks more like a suit jacket (or a dinner jacket if the lapels are satin as they appear to be in the photo) than a blazer.
Yeah, dinner jacket, suits jacket whatever they are called, the labels are seen on wool coats, blazers and suits jackets...etc. Thank you for your accuracy.
Generally we date the garment, rather than the label. The VFG label resource is created by establishing a date for a garment, then adding the label. The label can sometimes gives clues as to the date, but only in combination with the garment. FWIW I think it's a suit jacket, rather than a dinner jacket (evening wear), as I think I can see a tweedy fabric which wouldn't be used for evening wear I think. The paler looking collar perhaps a trick of the light rather than a different fabric? Hard to tell from your photo. I don't know how old your jacket is, I'm not so good at menswear. If someone else is able to date it by style, they'll probably need more details. For instance does it have any other labels? Check inside the pockets too. It would probably help to confirm whether the collar is the same fabric as the rest, whether you know what the lining fabric is, and a photo of the back.
