Another dress dating thread

    Hi there, again I'd appreciate some help with dating this dress. It appears to be homemade so no labels, lined on the front skirt only, size zipper that looks old, no shoulder padding. The fabric could be acetate possibly, but I'm not an expert. It has a slight sheen to it & the base colour is more lilac than it appears in the photos.

    It looks home made, and that's a riri zipper - Swiss quality :)! My guess is early 50s with that asymmetric draping, but lets see what the other think.

    It looks like its made from a nice twill silk -- I agree, c. 1949-50-51ish.
