I forgot I had this, it was in a box of early 1900s linens I
purchased at an estate auction approximately
a year ago. All the stitching is hand-done (with fairly
large stitches) so I am assuming a child made this. There were some other items that were hand-stitched, obviously by an adult.

    That is really sweet!

I just love it when I come across a box of stuff I got a while ago and forgot about,
I get to discover it all over again:)

It looks like it was made from a hankie. Is it that size?

Jonathan...good call! The couching on the skirt part and the fleur-de-lis edge is the only thing that doesn't look like it was done by a child - the trim and lace has been added, same as the pocket.

The eyelet at the waist is only 16" long (8" at the "hankie" part).

From center front to end of point, not including lace or waistband is
12", and from side pt to side pt is 17"...so could very well be a larger
    hankie

  5. That is lovely and so unique. Love the fleur-de-lis. Some apron collector will really want this.
