Can any of you amazingly talented folks let me know what this material is and when this dress may have been made ?

Things I do know : There is a snap closure on the left side.
The belt/sash has a hook and thread closure
It has one hook on the back

Homemade? Repro? Thank you in advance!

I couldn't get it on my dress form, for fear of ripping the fabric.

Ohhhh that is gorgeous! It looks like a silk or velvet rayon. It looks 1930s to me but hopefully others will pipe in.

I just love that shade of blue!

Thank you, Susan! I have trouble leaving things behind that are unique and beautiful and this ticked both boxes. I am still learning about fabrics and sewing, so any information is an education! Thank you! I look forward to what others have to say as well!

Thank you, Cat! It is even more gorgeous in person! I am curious to know if most of the dresses from that era had that black netting as a liner? Also, what the "peplum" type thing is called on the front and the back! Thank you!
