Yes, avamac, I know what you mean about learning something new everyday which for me is easy because I am a complete novice! I just learnt that the zig-zag stitch wasn't used by home sewers until 1947, a handy tip to remember when looking at the seams/stitching!

Hi nicolejenkins, I live in a suburb of Brisbane too. I love the name sewing machinegirl - I just wish I could sew - I have lots of clothing that needs altering, mending etc.

Well, I thought of myself as a 'collector', but after seeing some of VFG members collections, well I'm now embarrassed to call myself a 'collector'!!! :scratchchin:

Have been reading loads of interesting posts and workshops on this wonderful forum, so much to learn/admire/adore...

I love to wear vintage from the fifties, it's so pretty and feminine!
I have been selling vintage online for a couple of years now, learning something new every day. I am located in the north of Holland, where I spend a lot of my time hunting for vintage goodies at local fleemarkets and thrift stores.
