Our trade member, Karen Augusta, has kindly sent us along more information about her next upcoming auction.

    Dear Vintage Fashion Guild,

Our fashion and textile auction is rapidly approaching - only a week away on April 17th - and we're hoping to see you at our NEW auction venue at 160 Central Part Westin Manhattan. The sale starts at noon with preview begining at 9AM. If you are unable to attend the preview and sale on Wednesday, try not to miss the early preview time from 3PM to 7PM on Tuesday April 16th.

While it's easy to get lost exploring the 2000+ new images in the web catalog (click the thumbnails to view them all),there is no equal to an up close inspection of these exquisite fabrics and amazing garments while they are all in one location. The regional, vintage and couture garments, fashion accessories and historic textiles from museum collections will find their way to new closets and collections next week. Everything will sell for the museums on that day.

The 395 lots in this sale have been consigned to us by the Brooklyn Museum, the StrongMuseum, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, the Moore College of Art with selections from more than a dozen other institutional & private consigners.

As if this sale announcement isn't enough to excite your fashion impulses, the subject line of this email promised "other exciting news" and here it is. Tonight, April 11th, the team from Augusta Auction Company will be featured in the season finale of the new hit TV show LA Frock Stars on the Smithsonian Channel. The show premiers at 8PM EST and repeats again at 11PM.

For those who haven't yet tuned in to this informative show on 20th century fashion the producers followed Los Angeles vintage expert, Doris Raymond, as she scours the countryside seeking vintage treasure. This episode, taped at one of our recent specialty auctions, captures the spirit and excitement of our sales - called by our auctioneer and Antiques Roadshow colleague, Leila Dunbar.

If you can't attend our NYC sale next week in person or have never been to a fashion auction, this episode offers a great behind-the-scenes look at how we stage our sales and how easy it would be to raise your hand and win a coveted lot. If we will be seeing you next week, this LA Frock Stars episode should get you into the proper mood to bid.

On the auction page for the April 17 sale, you'll find general information about this sale, links to directly access our web catalog and a link to a printable catalog filefor you to create a personal list of all the sale lots in advance of previews next week.

For those who are still unable attend the New York sale, we've done everything possible to make it easy for you to bid from afar. There are absentee bid and phone bidforms for you to fill out and send back to us.

We've also photographed and listed about 2/3 of the lots in this sale with LiveAuctioneers to allow for online bidding of those lots. To access the catalog on LiveAuctioneers and sign up to bid, click the button on the auction page.

Plan to watch LA Frock Stars tonight or search for a link to the Smitsonian Channel sometime after tomorrow. Usually these great shows appear somewhere on the web after they air commercially. If we find a link to the show, we'll post it on our homepage.
Landmark on the Park is just opposite "The Lake" and "Womens Pavillion" in the historic Olmstead designed Central Park. We are told that there are hundreds of thousands of naturalized daffodils and other flowers just waiting to open in time for our sale.

The exhibition hall is on the ground floor, easily handicap accessible, with the public entrance on Central Park West about 15 yards south of 76th Street. The well-lit hall, with its Tiffany mosaic, promises to be the perfect display backdrop for this exciting fashion and textile sale.

We hope to see you there.
