Beaded Ferragamo pumps have me puzzled. I'd love to know the decade

These beaded cream velvet pumps are stamped "hand made in Italy" with a gold leather heal, found in the original black or brown box with a price tag from I. Magnin for the crazy price of $105! The interior stamp with "creations" can indicate shoes back to the 1930's, but the condition is too good. Please help!

Very nice! I believe they are early/mid 1950s - 1954ish would be my bet, however, they could be as late as 1957. Ferragamo tended to reissue designs throughout his career, and sometimes he used old lasts, so they can look older than they are. However, the heel on these is definitely 1950s.

So glad to hear of a decade, 1950's! Great! The heel has such a beautiful line, I thought it could be contemporary, if not for the box, which is another puzzle to me. I'm just familiar with the red one.
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hmm... what bothers me is the printing on the label on the box. I thought this sort of computer/ inkjet print wasn't available until the late 70s

Ah, its certainly possible that this isn't the original box. I just assumed. Thanks for the link to the evolution of the label.

I agree, I think the box and the shoes are not contemporaries. The box is 70s or 80s

Yes certainly, I have had a couple of pairs of Ferragamo dated to the 70's in those boxes.

I don't think the box is original (to the shoes), because it's too narrow for this pair of shoes. looks like it was meant for flats.
    beautiful shoes.
