Hi all, I'm a freelance journalist writing about the incredible knitwear on show in Call the Midwife for the January issue of Let's Knit magazine. I'd love to speak to anyone with specialist knowledge of the hand knits featured in the show, or more broadly of the yarns of the late 1950s and early 1960s, and the trends that influenced the clothes that young professional women of the era knitted and wore.

    Thank you in advance.

I know very little about knitwear from that era but I do know that I LOVE Chummy!

Anna, I'd suggest the first thing to do would be to contact the production company for the series and ask to speak to wardrobe to find out if the garments were hired/purchased originals custom ordered reproductions for the production. They may not be of the period, as there is usually some leeway given in costuming.
