I love this "sleeve" style, and have never found a name for it! Does it have a name? I see it on dresses and sweaters. I assume this sweater is from the 1980s, but if anyone could give me examples of when these sleeves were popular on dresses and such, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

I believe cap sleeve would be the term.

Woo, SO 80s. They are wide, so you can even say "Dolman" cap sleeves.

I am seeing more 1970s on this one, but it could be 80s. Is it wool, or acrylic, etc? That might help to better date it. I had a few tops with that style sleeves in the 70s. The embroidered roses look 1970s to me also. But I could be wrong!
Are the sleeves set on with a flange effect? That is, are they sewn to the body of the sweater with a seam? Or are they woven in as part of the entire sweater? I am not seeing so much a Dolman sleeve, but more of an extended ruffled cap sleeve. But I may be nit picking!
