I love old mags and found this the other day in the March 5, 1951 issue of Life. This issue is great as it covers the new
Paris collections. And added bonus was finding this
ad, for a Playtex girdle no less, endorsed by Ceil Chapman.

    The ad:

thats cool! I love old ads.

I just got a book by John Fairchild and it has lots of pics of designers that I have never seen what they looked like before.

I know what you mean Bonnie (for some reason I pictured
Ceil looking like Anne! :D )

Jonathan that is lovely! And just so.....Ceil!

Maybe we should have a forum with just vintage
ad scans....I love looking at them. I have a lot of old
magazines that I'm sure I can find more pics to post.

I remember my mother swearing about how uncomfortable her girdle was, way back in the late 60's, early 70's.

Cool scans, do we need a forum?

Deb, could we have a Vintage Magazine Ad forum? There are such cool
ads in these magazines and some of them can be awfully informative.

    (and some are downright hilarious)
