I was fortunate to stumble on a Chessa Davis peddler skirt set at an estate sale, and knew absolutely nothing about the label before finding it. I saw the write-up in the Label Resource, and when I saw that the designer had been an actress, I was inspired to do more digging. Boy am I glad I did: I found that her actual name was Gloria Castillo, and that she starred in "Reform School Girls," which has got to be one of the most iconic of the exploitation films from that era. I just thought you all might enjoy this little tidbit. Oh, and here is the set:
That is such a pretty skirt, Gina. I've only ever found one Chessa Davis skirt, and didn't know that it was called a peddler's skirt.
I love Chessa Davis fashions and have had quite a few of them, from just the skirts to the skirt and top outfits. You are fortunate to have found a set! (and one I never had) For those who haven't seen our entry. here it is: https://vintagefashionguild.org/label-resource/davis-chessa/
