You lucky East Coasters! Tom and Lorenzo (fashion bloggers) posted today about their holiday weekend trip to drool. Great photos. http://tomandlorenzo.com/2014/05/the-costumes-of-downton-abbey-part-1/ And the website for Winterthur museum where the exhibit is actually being held http://www.winterthur.org/downtonabbey?src=home-triptych-left
I am hoping to get to Delaware to see this exhibit and since it runs through January 2015 that may come to pass! Not that far from Virginia and it looks wonderful! Thanks for this post, Maggie!
It looks like a completely different selection of clothes from the ones that were on show in Toronto.
I enjoyed reading Tom & Lorenzo's blog and seeing all of the wonderful details in close-up (especially Sybil's dress). Thank you Maggie!
Second and third installment posted - # 3 has closeups of some of the period embroisery panels used, and info about dresses modeled after period Babani's and Lanvin's http://tomandlorenzo.com/2014/05/the-costumes-of-downton-abbey-part-3/
Wow such beautiful work-, and gosh I wish I had that budget on the show I am working on right now making the costumes (set in the same period) !
I went to see the exhibit and it was fabulous! Wishing they had Mary's wedding dress. Well worth a visit .
