I bought this off of Jonathan over a year ago, and it has come time to part with it....
I need a date though. The fabric is like a fine wool crepe.

Although it isn't easily seen, it has a horizontal seam about
6 inches from the hem, which creates a suggestion of
a peplum. Fully lined, with smallish, hard (cotton batting?)
shoulder pads between lining and outer shell.

Although this is a 40s style, the label is not right, and Jonathan is pretty sure it is a later date. I have searched
both Google and Vivisimo, and the current Schiap site
doesn't sell garments like this (sells, t-shirts, scarves, perfume, etc). Schiap went bankrupt in 1954 and
closed shop. Have found several conflicting dates on when
the company under her name reopened - late 70s and
early 80s, and then again in 90s....however there is apparently only a small office at the Paris address which
is tied to the US larger operation.

I would like to list this tonight, but am totally baffled on this
    one.

Late 40's/early 50's. Wish I could be more specific!

Jonathan feels it may be more like 90s, as apparently Schiaparelli
started up again in the 90s (his original thought was 40s also).

I have to go out but when I get back I'm going to go over this baby with
a magnifying glass and see if I can find any other clues. Jonathan is
one of the most knowledgable people I know and if he questioned
this, obviously there is something weird about this.

I just hope this mystery is solved before I list this tonight!
