Dating 40's/50's? floral print tasselled zip front dressing gown

    Thanks to your help on the other two dressing gowns / house dresses I've had recently I was able to identify this when I saw it on a mannequin backwards, described as a 70's dress! I would just like to clarify the era with you if I may as there are some contrasting features:
    the pointy collar is saying 40's, but the sleeves are that small batwing effect (no seam around the arm, the fabric piece joins at the bust seams) which I see in 50's dresses.
    only one slanted open patch pocket. The print is quite bright & bold, somewhere between Hawaiian and paisley in style! Overall I'm getting this eastern foreign influence in the style but I just don't know what period that is coming from!
