Dating a cocktail dress

    I was hoping for some opinion on the date of this dress. I wasn’t sure if it’s the 50s or 60s. I’m assuming it’s one or the other. It’s seams are unfinished. Just a little bit of hem. Thanks very much!

    They are hard to tell from the style and fabric alone. I'd suggest measuring the length, and checking to see if it's been shortened or lengthened.

    I think it was shortened and the extra fabric trimmed off. It only has a one inch hem and it doesn’t look professionally done like the rest of the seams. It measures about 37” with a metal tape measure (I’m constantly misplacing my sewing tape measure!) and comes to about 2” below my knee.
