Wondering if anyone could tell me the approximate date of this Aquascutum trench? It looks to me like perhaps late 70's/early 80's, but I'd love a second opinion!

Couple of little details, it's a darker, greenish khaki colour, as opposed to the classic tan usually found, the buckles are leather-covered, and the interior of the right pocket (when you're wearing it) has some very interesting labels! It's an "Aqua 5", but is also called the "Quintin" coat I guess, which I've never come across before online anywhere! Any info on dating this coat, as well as on Canadian manufacturing locations would be greatly appreciated!!

It looks 1970s to me and I believe the other label is just a style name for it, looks like Quentin to me.

    Nice color on this one.

Are you sure it is a ladies? The shoulders look rather wide.

Thanks for the reply! I think you're right, it's probably late 70's... The Aquascutum website says the "heritage check" lining was introduced in 1976, so it can't be older than that. https://www.aquascutum.com/us/women/clothing/heritage-club-check-clothing.html

And you're right, it's "Quentin", I mis-typed! I'm fairly confident it's a women's coat, as the storm flap covers the opening when it's buttoned up right over left (when looking at it from the front), and it's marked "size 8", which to the best of my knowledge is vintage dress sizing? Men's vintage outerwear was generally sized by chest measurement I think. I'm fairly petite, and the coat fits me well.

You are right about the size 8, that should be woman's sizing. I guess it just looks large in the shoulder due to the way it is hanging off that wooden hanger.

It's a ladies size 8 but Aquascutum tend to come up a size bigger, so probably a modern 10.The 1970s coats tend to be a bit slimmer fitting on the arms than the 80s ones.

The shoulders are wide, I think. I think it can be masculine
