It’s not a real bird, thankfully. Still, it’s a little disturbing to some friends of mine. lol So this is birthday hat #3 of 8. This hat is fascinating. The bird is some kind of stuffed material with paint over it? The beak is plastic. I think the feathers are real, black, with some kind of greenish blue tinge. No labels anywhere. Thanks for your help!
Hi! First, you have an excellent friend! Also, I believe the feathers are rooster tail feathers. Hopefully some of the experts will come along to help with dating your fabulous hat!! Lastly, happy belated birthday!
Since the bird was originally painted and it has flecked off, I think it is fine to repaint him or her.
