Dating Carlye velvet dress

Looking for help with decade of this Carlye label dress. I looked at the label resource and the label on my dress seems to match closer to the 40s/50s labels. But the style looks a little more 30s to me. Side metal Conmar zipper. Any thought? Thank you!

    The wide scoop neck, short, cap sleeves, narrow belt with rhinestone accents, and long, A-line full skirt all looks pretty 1949-50 on the nose to me.

    I agree--those sleeves put int in the late 40s/early 50s cusp.
