Hello! I’m having a bit of trouble dating this patriotic dress (costume?). It was labeled as a parade costume when I bought it, but who knows? The fabric feels older to me, and the back closes with snaps. The snaps are fabriccovered/sewn into the fabric. The bodice is lined, but the skirt is not. The bodice seems to be polished cotton. Thanks in advance for any help!

Sorry I accidentally posted this in the other q&a forum earlier.

That is a darling dress. I see it as a costume, especially with the snap tape (versus individually sewn snaps) and the use of polished cotton for the fabric. I cannot say the decade, but maybe 40s or 50s?

I was thinking 50s, so I’m glad I’m not way off!

The dress form makes a big difference! Cute dress. I see '50's to early '60's.

1960 or so... probably very early 60s. Super cute on the mannequin!

  7. Agree with Cin and Linn: very early '60s with that wide, bias roll collar.

It's a darling dress, agree probably a costume.
