I am soooo not supposed to allow myself to hoard jackets but here we are again (and only September)

I couldn't resist this one bc have not seen something just like it before but I'm sure you all have

can anyone help identify the fur type, as well as the era for this cute piece?

The fur looks like mink. I would say 60s but it’s a bit hard to tell the shape from your photos. Are there any labels or tags?

Why do you think it is soutache? I understand soutache to be a decorative braid. It looks like crochet, but I can't identify the yarn/fiber used. Yes, I agree, the collar looks like mink. It may be a little large for your mannequin. It may well be 1960's. Nice piece.

Agree with Marian. I wouldn’t consider this to be soutache
