Hi! I’m a vintage collector and seller but when it comes to lingerie I am completely clueless. Over time I’ve acquired some very pretty pieces but when I’ve tried to date them and in turn price them reasonably, I get lost! If anyone has insight on any or all of these 4 pieces, I’d be so thankful! None of these items carry brand or care tags. #1 is a pink romper/teddy with ivory lace. The material is either a very thin cotton or silk. (Image 1-3) #2 is a baby blue romper/teddy with ivory lace and and satin feeling material. (Image 4-6) #3 is a white silk slip/nightgown (image 7-9) #4 is a white synthetic feeling robe but has super intricate details at the cuffs and many little hooks for fastening (image 10-12) thanks so much!!! -E
1st is 1920s and these are camiknickers and the 2nd as well 3rd is a nightgown and looks 1930s to me 4th is a dressing gown possibly an acetate satin as you state it feels synthetic and looks early 40s to me. Lovely finds!
Oh wow - so pretty! I agree with MJ. I love the jacquard pattern of the robe. And if that's you in the avatar then lucky you to have found such a lovely Gunne Sax (or Gunne Sax style) dress!
Thank you so much!!!! I’ve been hanging onto these a long time and it’s so nice to know a little more about them.
You can tell alot by the tag and material. If the tag is embroidered that can be a clue that it may be a genuine vintage piece. Is it silk? Is it nylon. Are the seams serged or stiched?
