I was reading the Vintage Traveller about your Davidow find.
There was a question about the collar and whether it is single layer.
Davidow made Chanel copies and also had a patent for single layer collars and front edges. This was for designs to save fabric during the war.
The fabrics for these suits are quite different from the Chanel copies and look-alikes. I did a pattern for Vogue several years ago using this technique.
The early jackets had no lining or interfacing at the front edges. Later the lining extended to the front edge.

Lizzie, I thought this was your blog.
Some of the Davidow single-layers have interesting self-fabric trims. One I like is "bias" binding on a twill. The bias is not 45 degrees.
