    The jacket looks to be 1960s, and made of wool cavalry twill https://vintagefashionguild.org/fabric-resource/cavalry-twill (look for the distinct double line in the twill weave). I think, from the wear to the labels, and the very sturdy fabric, that this was made for real sport, like skiing.
