Does everyone agree? 60\'s Motown Mama?

    Hi everyone & Happy Friday!

After I swore I was cleaning out my closet, I find this little darlin'! Love the collar & bows!! Too sweet!! Reminds me of something Dianna Ross woulda worn back when the Supremes hit the scene. I often find stuff like this around Detroit and alwayssssss think to myself, "I bet this belong to some hot Motown Mama back in the day!"

    I was thinking:
60’s Killer Diva Dress! Mandarin Collar, Diamonds & Bows!

Am I getting frustrated and saying anything? ;)

A mandarin collar would be notched in the front. this is more of a banded collar. I would not say supremes just because people are thinking of sparkles and over the top when they think that. (unless in the description you were reminded of what they might have worn offstage) I would definitely use rhinestones. People do search for rhinestones and people looking for something with a diamond pattern or something with real diamonds would be disappointed.

I see this is a little "sweet" to be a killer diva. definitely fashion forward, but Diva i would think long sultry dress. The lines are a bit more mod leaning than the ruffled dress, but not the shift silhouette. switch around some of the details and it could be a bit earlier, like Jackie O timeframe.

I would also play up the purple element. Is it lavendar? lilac? grape?

    60s Rhinestones and Bows....

I would consider this perhaps a sheath type dress ?

Thanks Pantent, you're right, I was going in the wrong direction with the title!
    How about:

60’s Lavender Jackie Dress with Rhinestones & Bows
    ?

I like Joanne's title!! Use that and remember to add "dress" to it or "sheath dress"

....its not jackie unless you changed a few things i think

I agree that it's too demure for Diana Ross, but that is one super sophisticated elegant mini-dress. I'd say a deffinate mid-60s, and I'd even choose it as my date-dress if I had a date with a Beatle! (except that if a Beatle had ever asked me on a date I'd have been so thrilled I'd have dropped dead on the spot!).

I'm not too sure if it's very Jackie Kennedy... it's a little too "cutesie" for her, she wore things more in the simple sophisticated French style. I don't think she'd have been into the little bow with the sparkly crystals on it (though how could you not be, it's so girlie!!!). But the shape of the dress is very like her. Does it have a label in it to give us any more clues?

I'd try and think of a title to get the girly crowd in. Lilac sparkles and bows. And something that expresses how sophisticated and elegant it is too.

    love, moons and starrs,
    Senti.*
